[Question][Standalone Report Designer]: How to make a Text Field Parameter?

Good Afternoon Telerik Forums,

 

Somehow, while messing with my Parameters I made a parameter within the Telerik Standalone report designer as a Text field. Where instead of selecting something displaying. it allowed you to type in your request. I did not need that at the time so I erased my parameter and started again. Now I am needing to know how to replicate this so that I can have someone type in one of the fields (in example an employee number).

How can I accomplish this again?

Hi Austin,

Thank you for the provided information!

In order to display a text input that the user can write in, the report parameter should have its Type set to String and the parameter should not have AvailableValues, in other words, it should use any data source otherwise the widget will change to dropdown with the predefined values of that data source component.
