I cannot get the Sample project to show the GridView from the Q2 release.  So, I decided to open the project in debug and see what was going on.  I find it very hard to believe that you are releasing a sample that compiles with 13 warnings of Obsolete classes.  How are we supposed to be using the sample project as a basis of our development if you are delivering usages of obsolete items?

Not pleased at all with this...

So now I tried to use the online demo as running sample and use code for reference.  If you run the any of the gridview samples and try to group by two columns, the whole application crashes out and you have to restart the application.

This seems awfully buggy here...

Hi lkeel,

Please take my apologizes if we did not met your expectations. We do our best to improve constantly everyday and feedback like yours are pushing us ahead.

Regarding your first concern you're absolutely right. We ship the examples with warnings which should have been avoided. Take my personal commitment that this will not happen again.

Now onto your second problem. We are already aware of this issue. It can be reproduced only in partially trusted XBAP scenarios like our online examples. Unfortunately the problem lies down into the .NET Framework itself and we have already reported it to Microsoft. They have confirmed it and promised to fix it for future service pack of the framework. Here is the connect link to the bug report: https://connect.microsoft.com/WPF/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=471383&wa=wsignin1.0

Thanks again for your valuable feedback. It is taken to heart.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your response.  I was very ticked off the day I was trying to get the sample to run and kind of vented on this forum.  However, I am still trying to get the sample project up and was wondering what database I am supposed to mount or have loaded and where can I set the connection string to point to the new database?

Thanks in advance,
Lee

Hello lkeel,

You can look at the app.config file in the Examples folder. It contains a connection string which points to the Examples\DataSources\Northwind.mdf database file.
