Hi kendo team:
It seems inputWidth doesn't cause any effect. Please, Try this example.
The width of the input in the filter cell doesn't change.
Kind regards,
Oscar.

Hello Oscar,

That specific option was added later on after the official release. Please download and use the latest internal build in order to make it work. Let me know if for some reason it still does not work.

Hello Petur,

Thank you very much for your help.
With v2014.2.724, inputWidth Works perfectly.
I've tried a percentage value and it also works fine.

How can I set a placeholder for the filter input? Something simple as "Search by code..."

Kind regards.
Oscar.

Hello Oscar,

I am afraid currently the only option would be to create your own autocomplete with the template function, however then you will have to configure the dataSource manually:

http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/api/web/grid#configuration-columns.filterable.cell.template

Where to get the internal dev package v2014.2.724?    When I try to download the professional version,  it gave me 2014.2.716 version.

Thank you, Petur.  I downloaded the new build: telerik.kendoui.professional.2014.2.805.commercial.   This issue of Columns.filterable.cell.inputWidth has fixed there.
