Hello,

I have a problem with reports.

I created a report with this sections (see "report.jpg" from attached files):

- groupHeaderSection (with property "printOnEveryPage = true")
    - groupHeaderSection (for each subject)
        - Detail
    - groupFooterSection (with property "visible = false")
- groupFooterSection (with property "printOnEveryPage = false" and "pageBreak = After")

My problem is... If I find a example with the detail section finish at the end of page, the next page show overlap between
groupHeaderSection and groupFooterSection (see "overlap.jpg" from attached files).

The groupHeaderSection properties: see "groupheadersection.jpg" from attached files.
The groupFooterSection properties: see "groupFooterSection.jpg" from attached files.

It's very difficult for me to explain you my problem becouse my english is not very good, I wait you understand me.

Regards

Hello Jose Viana,

This is a known bug that has been logged in our bug tracking system recently. In this line of thoughts we have not researched it yet, but would do our best to address it for upcoming versions.

Fortunately it can be easily avoided by adjusting either the detail section width (i.e. how much datarows would be shown on a single page) or by playing around with the PrintOnEveryPage property of the Group Header/Footer.

Please excuse us for the temporary inconvenience.

Sincerely yours,
Steve

I am having the same issue but don't understand how you are recommending to avoid it via the detail width. Could you explain that a little more please?

Thanks,

Adam

Hello Adam,

You need to increase/decrease the height of the detail section, not the width (typo in my previous post). This way you control how much datarows would be shown on a single report page and the GroupFooter would not be carried out to the next page.

Thanks for the quick response, Steve. If I understand you correctly, I could fix the problem if I could control the layout such that a set number of groupheader, detail and groupfooter rows fit on each page. Unfortunately my detail row height is constant at 0.2in and the number of rows on the page is dictated by the data (1 row per record returned). I have 4 nested groups. The problem occurs any time the detail and 0 or more footers finish on one page, but the remaining footers don't fit. Then the headers have to re-print on the next page, only for the footer to be displayed. That's where the problem occurs: headers and footers with no details in between.

Hopefully that'll help you guys solve the issue. I voted for it in the PITS:

Hello Adam,

Thank you for the additional clarification - we're aware of how the problem surfaces and would do our best to address it for subsequent version. I also understand that your detail height is set to specific number so that you can achieve the layout you need, but small adjustments should be enough to address this i.e. if you change the height to let's say 0.22 or 0.18in. Also note that each group has a GroupKeepTogether property which is set to true by default. Change that to false and see if that makes any difference. Additionally each section (both groupheader and groupfooter) have KeepTogether property - try altering it as well.

Greetings,

Hello Zeinab,

Please check all items Docking and Anchoring properties and reset them. In case there are overlapping items on preview, test upgrading to the latest available R3 2016 SP1 v10.2.16.1025 which includes changes in the paging mechanism which may affect the rendering - Upgrading Telerik Reporting Projects.
