I using the telerik web report viewer to display a simple report and the user tends to print it out every time.

Most of the time the printed copy shows up fine but on occasion, the text is all messed up. Not the labels on the report but the actual text for the data.

Any clue to what might cause this problem? I've attached a scan of one of these messed up reports.

Any help is much appreciated.

Loy.

Hi Loy,

The Web Report Viewer uses True Print, which basically export the report to PDF internally and then invokes the print dialog of the PDF plug-in. So according to your explanation and screenshot, it would seem that some of the fonts used in the report are missing and therefore are not embedded in the PDF file. You can find more information in the Design Considerations for PDF Rendering help article, Font Requirements section.

Note that if this is the problem, the problem would be persistent and would not occur randomly. If you are using special fonts that do not come with Windows, make sure you have restarted the server after adding those fonts to the server.

All the best,
