Hi,
I have a chart that uses a date axis and i wanted to plot recession shading based on its exact dates on the categoryaxis. I figured I use plotbands for this but I see that the "to" and "from" only takes numbers. Is there a workaround for using dates?

Thanks,
Tonih

Hello Tonih,

Please take a look at this example which demonstrates how to set plotBands using dates.

Hi Iliana,

Your example works exactly how I need, however, my chart is set up like this demo and plotbands does not appear to work.

Thanks,

Hello Tonih,

I am not quite sure why it is not possible to set plotBands in the particular example, however I forwarded the issue to our developers for further investigation. I will write you back as soon as I have any information on the subject. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Hello again Tonih,

It appears the observed behaviour is due to a bug in the current version of Kendo UI Chart, however we will do our best to address it as soon as possible. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Hi Iliana,

It's a bit strange because if I change the linetype to column, I can then see the plotbands. When I change the linetype back to line, the plotbands disappear.

Hello Tonih,

Thank you for sharing this observation. Could you please try setting the categoryAxis.justified option to false?

Hi Iliana,

That works, I can now see the plotbands with the line chart. I can't seem to get it to work in the navigator though. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tonih

Hello Tonih,

It appears there is an issue in the current version of Kendo UI StockChart and setting plotBands to the navigator is not supported. I logged the issue in our internal system - we will do our best to address it as it as soon as possible. Please excuse us for the inconvenience caused.
