Hello,

I am not yet a customer. I still hesitate which wpf suite to buy. The one from xx who has a pivot grid which I really need. Or I wait for you creating a pivot grid in wpf. Any chance this gets released somehow in the middle of 2010?

Probably you can not answer this question ;-) Maybe you can tell me the roadmap for 2010? Or is this still a secret?

Hi Bernd,

I can assure you that the pivot grid is in our plans and we already started the research phase. As a time frame our plans are to start the development after our Q1 2010 release and to put all the efforts to ship it with our Q2 2010 release which is expected in mid summer this year.

In the meanwhile is there anything else we can help you with during your evaluation process to win you as a client?

All the best,
Hristo

Hello,

thank you for the answer.

1.) When you might gonna release the pivot at Q2 2010 is this a final version or ctp, beta etc? Meant for productive environment?

2.) I have another question about the Scheduler/Grid control they are probably those who might do the trick if not you should extend them ;-)

I have for example 2 Entities:  TimeTableDay and TimeTableLesson. Could be seen as a 1:N or N:M relation depends how you look at it. technically seen I get a parent entity with many child entities like:

Monday has TimeTableLesson, LessonNumber, SchoolclassName, SubjectName etc...
Tuesday has... etc...

Is it possible with your Grid/Scheduler to set up a Master-Detail scenario where my TimeTableDay is bound to the WeekDay column and the relating childs(TimeTableLessons) are bound to the relating rows of that certain column?

Consider furthermore I need to display on the timeruler not stuff like 01:00, 02:00,...15:00, etc I need to display LessonNumbers like 1,2,3,4,5..24.

I know your Grid can handle master-detail view with grouping, but then the Weekdays wouldn`t be horizontally centered just vertically what I do not want as its very untypical/hard to use for the end user.

3.) Are the ColumnHeaders of your DataGrid part of the visual element tree ?

Else I like to say that you are the only component producer who advances mvvm in its help documents and development. Furthermore I like that nearly all stuff is blendable.

4.) Is it possible to buy somehow only single components, as I need only some big controls, not the small ones which I could do for myself...

5.) Do you plan to make your DataGrid exporting RTFormatted Data as docx/doc format ?

A answer would be appreciated :)

Hello Bernd,

Straight onto your questions:

1. Our plans are to deliver as complete as possible version of pivot grid which could be used for production development.
2. For the described scenario please check the Resource Grouping and Timeline examples in our online demos for WPF.
3. Column headers are visually represented by GridViewHeaderCells placed in a GridViewHeaderRow which both are part of the visual tree of RadGridView.
4. For the time being we do not offer the possibility to purchase only selected controls from our WPF suite.
5. We have such plans but I cannot commit to any specific date or release.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Greetings,

Hello,

now we have Â» Q2 2010 Beta and there is no PIVOT control planned for WPF.

What do you say ?

Hi bernd kopp,

The Pivot Grid priority was pushed down due to more major tasks like Silverlight 4, WPF 4.0, TreeListView, etc. The Pivot Grid is still in our plans but it is a matter of future discussions when we'll ship it.

Hello,

Are there any news about Pivot Grid? Currently it seems that devexpress is the only big player who has it.

Thanks,
Oleg

Infragistics have one
but radarsoft' one  is the best for now.(even if there is one bug with some empty date field aggregation)

Hello Tgaud,

We are actively working on something that we hope will solve your problems. It will be Silverlight based in the first version, but will not be limited to Silverlight only in the future. As soon as we have something stable to show we will announce it publicly.

We do have a private beta testing mailing list of clients who want to participate and give an early feedback about the product. We will mail this people once we have something useful to show, but before shipping it to a broader audience. Anyone who wants to be included in this list please reply to this forum thread.

Hristo

Hi Hristo

I'm interested in testing the pivot grid so If you can sign me in that mailing list it would be great.

I know that this first beta version it would be just for silverlight, but I would like to know an estimate of how many weeks it will take to see something for WPF after the silverlight version is finally released.

Thanks,

Bhavik
