So we have a couple of licenses for DevCraft Complete.  The control panel lists a lot of the products in that package as having a trial license.  We are confused as to why it is showing that status.  For instance, KendoReact is PURCHASED, but Kendo UI for Vue is showing TRIAL  In addition, when we click on "Get Started", it takes us to a page to buy now or start a free trial.  Why is it trying to sell us something we already own?

I've been trying to talk another team into using your product, but the licenses are not cheap.  Things like this may keep them from pulling the trigger.

Is this fixable, or can you give me something I can throw their way as an explanation?

Thanks!

Hello, Brian,

When it comes to the Get Started url in the Progress Control Panel, it seems that this was a bug by our side. Thank you for reported it. We have already fixed the issue and now the correct Getting started page is launched for Kendo React product. Due to the fact that we highly appreciate your feedback, we have rewarded you with 1000 Telerik points for it.

As for the redirect to the Trial form, our Getting started page is protected under login, but by default we assume that this page is viewed by a new user and we show the registration form instead of the login one:

Still, I can agree that this is not good experience, and we have a discussion the remove the needed login for the getting started page.

As for the team, I can suggest to give them a link directly to the documentation where nothing is hidden under login, and they observe all components with many examples:

We apologies for the created inconvenience.

Thanks so much!

The next thing is that the control panel does not want to install.  I opened the one I had installed, and it told me to go download the new one.  I did so.  When I ran that EXE, it just opened the program without updating the installed one.  I then uninstalled the old one, and the new one still just ran and did not install.

How can I force this thing to install?

Hi Brian,

Recently, we have deprecated the old versions of the Progress Control Panel and the described behavior is expected. The easiest way to update the current installed version is to use Control Panel's offline installer. I have attached Telerik.ControlPanel.zip file which contains the stand-alone installer of the Progress Control Panel latest version.

Could you please try to download it, unzip it, install it and let us know in case the issue still persists?

I am looking forward to your feedback.

Thank you!  That worked.  Is there any way you guys could post a link to the offline installer along with the standard link on our account pages?  Before I posted the question about it, I looked all over the place for that link and couldn't find it.

Hi Brian,

Currently, the standalone installer of Progress Control Panel is not available for download on our web site. Manual update of the installed Control Panel is needed when its older versions are deprecated. This is by design, due to the fact that we perform deprecation only when we have introduced a breaking change. Any other updates are performed automatically after logging in the Control Panel.

However, we are aware that the deprecation mechanism needs some improvements. We have a logged item in our backlog and we will take it into consideration in the next planning meeting.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please let us know if you have any other feedback - we highly appreciate it.

Regards,
