We have created a report using only the font "Arial Unicode MS". Exports to Microsoft Excel work fine (the East Asian text is visible).

However, exports to PDF result in empty boxes instead of text.

PDFs created on my development machine work fine (East Asian text is visible in PDF). But when we deploy to our server (Windows Server 2008 Standard), the PDFs once again result in empty boxes.

Any suggestions?

P.S.  In our case "East Asian Language" = Chinese and Korean.

Hello,

Please review the Font Requirements section in the Design Considerations for PDF Rendering help article for more information on your inquiry. Most likely the Arial Unicode MS font is missing on your server, or you have not restarted the server after installing it.

We had not restarted the server after installing the Arial Unicode MS font.  Once we did that, we were able to see the East Asian texts in the pdf-files.

Telerik Support rocks! Thanks!
