PDF/A iso standard

Does Telerik have any plans for supporting PDF/A standard, in the Telerik Reporting tools ?

We have based our PDF's on your component, but are now in the situation, where we have to support the PDF/A standard.

Although we have not aimed at having PDF/A compatible files, looking at this article it would seem that we conform to all of the requirements.
It is unlikely that we're using any PDF features which are not compliant, but guaranteeing compliance is a different story, so we would appreciate if you elaborate on what we're missing?

We too would like PDF/A support. Currently the PDF/A meta-data is not present for regular PDF exports, which is what one would expect, since there are restrictions of PDF/A documents (e.g. they are readonly). It would be great if there was a new export type, call it "PDFA" which would then add the correct PDF/A meta-data, and also embed all fonts. The other main restriction is that there can be no external references (hyperlinks) in the document, but then the report could be designed to meet that requirement.

Hi,

Currently the PDF/A version of the PDF format is not supported and at this moment we cannot give you an estimate when it will be implemented.

A possible workaround is to get the generated by our product PDF document and use a third party tool which can convert it to the PDF/A specification.

Any news for using PDF/A on Telerik Reporting?

We use Active Reports for PDF/A compliance and we would like to switch.
But i looks that we still need Active Reporting 11 ...

Hello Jürgen,

Telerik Reporting PDF rendering extension produces version 1.6 PDF file - Design Considerations for PDF Rendering. Producing PDF/A documents is not supported and it is not in our short-term plans to add this feature.

Hi, any news? I find the lack of this feature preatty serious because this a common business requirements, especially for legally compliant documents archiving and all of your competitors already have it.

This feature has already been requested by other community members - Telerik Reports PDF/A Export. Feel free to vote for this request as new features are selected for development based on the demand from our community.
Note that even if the feature is approved we cannot provide the exact time when it is released. All tasks are sorted based on the demand, complexity, required and available resources etc.
