I don't think it's possible, but I would like to inherit parameter and external style sheets from my base report.
I basically have a base report that has common stuff that I always put in the header and footer and all my new reports use that as a base.  That works great, but it doesn't seem to work for parameters or stylesheets.
Everytime I rebuild my report it always adds another stylesheet to my report.  I assume it's grabbing it from the base and sticking it in there.  Same with parameters.  There are a few parameters that I always use in all my reports, like username and token for security.  It would be nice if it could inherit those.

Hello Dan,

This scenario is not possible since as you have already noticed the parameters get duplicated. However you should know that a much more cleaner scenario would be to create a report that you are going to use it as a template and whenever you are creating a new report just use this one - there is no need to inherit from some base report.

Kind regards,

Have you tried the new visualization options in Telerik Reporting Q1 2013? You can get them from your account.

Yes, I can use templates to create the report, but then I can't make global changes.  Say now I want to add a 4th global parameter after I've already created 50 reports.  I would still have to go to every report and add that parameter.

The inheritance you have in the reports is great because i can change something in the header and it goes to all the reports.

I'm just saying it would be great if it could do that, no big deal if it doesn't.

Hi Dan,

Currently if you want to inherit Reports, you should not use the designer to further edit the inherited reports otherwise the symptoms that you have experienced appear. The inheritance can serve you only if you want to make small changes in code in the descendants.
However, we have that scenario in mind and we might consider improving it in the future.

All the best,
