Hi,
i have a question, i need to show page header only on the first page and not on the other ones.
Basically i have mulitcolumn report, but when i try to add report header it is not expanded over all the columns, so page header would do - but it is visible on every page which i do not want it to be.

Thank you for the help.

Hello Sam Ur,

Unfortunately there is no solution for your scenario (first page only in multicolumn report). The report sections are not expanded over all the columns because they are part of the report i.e. each column can be looked upon as separate report which has report header, group header, detail section etc. Page header/footer on other hand are not related to the report itself, but are relative to the margins of the report's media, i.e. to the paper or screen and that is why they are expanded.

Greetings,

Yes I know that, but if i try to use report header - which would be the propper way to go - i get those columns in header to - so i cannot make a propper header design (is there any workaround for that - a scenario where i can use report header without columns visible (?)).

Thank you for your help.

Hello Sam,

As explained in the previous reply, only page sections span on the entire paper (or screen) and this cannot be simulated with report section. I am not sure I understand your last sentence about using report header with no columns visible - can you clarify?

All the best,

Sorry for a late reply...but basically what i want is the layout that is visible in attached image (DesiredLayout) - where i want to display the upper part - now a page header only on the first page.
I would normally achive this by using Report header - where all i put in report header is visible only on the first page of my report.
but I decided to use multicolumn layout in my report details.
Basically i what the same efect if i use report header.

But as you said...this would be hard to do...except if i somehow would get number of pages my report contains and for all - except first one i try to hide page header - if this would be possible.

Hi Sam Ur,

Yes it is possible to achieve such layout, but as explained in the other thread you posted to, the space that is taken up from the page sections on the page is always reserved, independently of whether they are visible on a specific page only. I've attached a modified version of the Product Tags report so you can see what I talk about - notice the white space on all other pages except Page 1 where the page header is visible. So your desired layout page would look like the modified version, with the fact that there would be header with data only on the first page.

Best wishes,

Thank you so much I'll look into it.

Well ok, but is there any other way to hide that area or at leaset change it's height?

P.S.
Sorry for boddering you for answers you already gave me but I just wasn't been able to put it together in my reports.
