Recently, the Telerik ASP.Net Ajax released their Q2 with a nice & powerful "Notification" control. This control can be very useful with 3 tier apps using pure Ajax to notify actions that take place on the server or web service. I suggest to consider this control for future development.

Hi Ben-

Thanks for the suggestion. We will consider a Notification UI widget for Kendo UI in the future.

As you may be aware, there is a specification in the HTML5 working drafts for a browser-implemented Notification API. This API gives HTML5 apps the ability to deliver true desktop toast notifications (displayed outside the browser shell). Unfortunately, support is very limited today (only available in Chrome), but hopefully that will change soon.

You can learn more about this native API here: http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/notifications/quick/

Hey Todd,

According to the page you posted "Update (Sept'12): Notifications with HTML content have been deprecated."
Seems like we need a control like Toastr.js or something similar.

Indeed you noticed correctly, Craig. Still we'll research the option to include a notification widget to our Kendo UI library and you can cast your vote for it in this public User Voice item.
