Hi

I switched to using the new Visual Style Builder Q1 2010 build.  Now, all my RadForms are a fixed size, not resizable.  They also have a very small title bar and no minimize, maximize or close buttons.  What have I done wrong ?

Hello Mark,

 Thanks for writing.

I believe you have designed a custom theme for RadForm by using the new Visual Style Builder tool, right? If so, could you please check whether you have set the ApplyShapeToControl property of the FormRootElement of RadForm in the VSB to true. We have updated the FormRootElement to have this property set to true (since this is a tricky moment) by default but this update will be available as of Q1 2010 SP1.

I have attached a screenshot to help you find this property in the Visual Style Builder.

I hope this helps.

Another question about the new VSB and RadForm - How do you change the fill primitive of the Title bar ? I have absolutely no reference to the fill primitive of the title bar in the radform whatsoever.

If I style the RadTitleBar control then that seems to auto apply to the form - Is this the only way to do it ?

Another question is the client area - I want to style the fill of the actual client area of the form and can find no reference to that.
How is that possible ? I know how to do that programmatically but I would like to set it at a theme level.

Hello Antonio,

Thanks for writing and for the valuable questions.

With the new version of the VSB released with Q1 2010 you can theme RadForm by creating a theme for the RadTitleBar control and RadForm. The theme for the RadTitleBar control will be automatically reused in RadForm as you have already noticed.

In the upcoming Q1 2010 SP1 you will be able to style RadForm and its title bar separately without having to define styles for the RadTitleBar control. In other words, you will be able to see the Title Bar metadata as a child metadata nodes of the RadForm control metadata on the tree view on the left side of the VSB.

You can set the Background color of the Form's Client Area by setting the BackColor property of the RootRadElement of the form. This element is populated in the Elements grid when the RadForm control is selected.

I hope this helps.
