I've been tasked with creating a series of toolbars for our employee-base (we're a medical facility with 25 medical practices)...They would be deployed on our intranet, integrated into Internet Explorer 6+ and 7+...Basically the toolbars would link users to various web services (online forms, RSS feeds, databases, relevant external URLs, etc etc)...

Is this possible via the WinForms product?

Thanks!

Hi keith robideau,

Thank you for contacting us. Please refer to this article in msdn first. As you can read there, internet explorer supports COM components. If you want to use WinForms or Telerik Controls for WinForms, you will have to create wrappers for the controls. This is not a scenario that we support, but nevertheless you may try whether it works for you.

Do not hesitate to write me back if you have further questions.

OK - so let's stay within something telerik supports/recommends.

instead of writing into a browser, let's say we want to create a custom toolbar that acts as a 'portal' tool for employees to quickly access intranet resources.

can you manage the implementation via the collections editor? are there any samples of this type of toolbar application? or perhaps where i can see the toolbar be used in this manner?

toolbar would launch various URLs and hopefully contain a scrolling RSS feed.

thanks

Hello keith robideau,

Thank you for contacting us back. Can you send us a picture of what you want to achieve. Currently we do have a bubble-bar. You can find it in our Demo application. Please note that it was not created as a separate component but as a demonstration of what can be achieved with Telerik Presentation Framework. You review our Demo application as well to get acquainted with all other controls that we provide.

We cannot really suggest how to start with your task. Perhaps you have to review some tutorial about creating a toolbar application using WinForms.

Also if you want to use our controls in a web browser you might be interested in this KB article.

Do not hesitate to write us back if you have further questions.

All the best,
Nick

I think of the same idea with you, keith.
I think that it would be much more useful to have this kind of function, but I doubt it, if this allows on WinForms products.
I hope somebody would make an update with regards on this.
Thanks!
