Hi,

I'm looking for a way to make a gant chart with the RADgridview control.

It may be quite simple
Column 1 : Name
Column 2 : Task
Column 3 to 370 : Calendar (1 column by Day) and must be scrollable (whithout scrolling the firsts 2 columns)

I was thinkin to put a RADGridView control in a parent RADGridView but I don't know if it is possible and how to do.

An other way is to have all column in one gridview but in this case I don't know how to do whith the scrolling problem...

Can you help me ? Have you others ideas ? A sample ?

Thanks all

Hello Filleau,

Thank you for contacting us.

I am not quite sure I understand your issue completely. As far as I understand you would like to use a radGridView that contains columns for Name and Task. Unfortunately, I do not grasp your idea about calendars and scrolling. Would you be able to paraphrase your explanation?

Please have in mind that adding such a large number of columns to the radGridView might have a huge impact over your application. Furthermore, a weighty radGridView might not be suitable for your users. Please provide clear details of your ideas, so we can assist you in organizing a better and more efficient application.

I am looking forward to your reply.

Hi,

Sorry for my bad english.
It is a little hard for me to explain what I want to do, so may be with a photo you will understand me better.
(see http://77166.free.fr/telerik.jpg)

So I was thinking to have in the last column, a radgridview with a column per day.
The firsts 4 columns must be alway visibles, and user can scroll the "days zone"

Hello Filleau,

Thank you very much for the provided details. Now I fully understand your question.

Generally, you are able to achieve such behavior with the current version of RadGridView. However, for your scenario you actually need to add around 370 columns (the first four columns should be pinned) implies that you might end up with performance issues, because the current version of RadGridView does not support column virtualization. For this reason our team highly recommends you to use our vNext RadGridView which will be part of our upcoming major release - Q2 2010. It might be a better choice for developing such an application, because vNext RadGridView will introduce sufficient performance improvements. For more information please refer to this blog post.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Best wishes,
