The documentation for reporting helps you to configure reports for MVC 4. Will someone give me instructions for setting up my MVC 5 project. I tried following the instruction for MVC 4 but am getting reference errors for assemblies that are not defined.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Scott,

You will need to add WebAPI support, update all references through Nuget packages manager and add proper binding redirects - How To: Add Telerik Reporting REST Web API to Web Application.

More details are available in this forum thread - HTML5 Report Viewer Widget.

I followed the directions you linked to and have run into the following issue..

Warning 1 Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly that could not be resolved.  These reference conflicts are listed in the build log when log verbosity is set to detailed.

This will take me a while to dig into...

Stef,

 Thank you for helping out.

You would not believe how frustrated I am with using Telerik's tools. Instead of coding, I have spent the last week trying to resolve things like this that should be well documented and easy to do (which is why one spends the $$ on tools like kendo ui). Instead I'm now stuck trying to figure out what reference is missing in my project since no information about any conflicts are displayed in the build log even though I have a warning that I do have a conflict.

When reading the documents from telerik on installing report viewer, it jumps to so many different pages that one soon gets lost. I'm so close to giving up on Telerik products.

Sorry but I had to vent a liitle.

Hi Scott,

We appreciate any feedback, and if you have any concerns regarding documentation and/or usability we will be happy to hear it so we can address the issues in future. My only recommendation is to separate the issues per product in order the team having the knowledge of the used components to address them.

Regarding Telerik Reporting documentation, we took steps to update the articles for adding the HTML5 viewer and the MVC wrapper. Troubleshooting articles are planned to be added as well. updates will be visible with consecutive releases of Telerik Reporting and updates of the online help.
