1. Launch "C:\Program Files\Telerik\RadControls for WPF Q2 2010 SP1\Demos\Examples.WPF\Telerik.Windows.Examples.exe"
App opens on Primary monitor (in my case, the one on the left).
2. Hover on Browse Controls circle, choose "Containers"
3. Choose "Docking" icon
4. Choose "Split Containers". Screen rearranges with a docking demo
5. Drag and release "Document 1" out of the main window, but still on the same monitor.
6. Press "Windows Key + L" to lock Windows
7. Type in your username and password to unlock Windows
Notice now that the "Document 1" window is now on Right Monitor.
Main window is still in original position on Left Monitor
8. Try to drag "Document 1" to the Main Window - don't let go of mouse button (i.e. keep dragging)
- as the mouse moves onto Monitor 1, the "Document 1" window is not drawn on Left Monitor, only on Right Monitor
- compass on Main Window does not appear
- moving the mouse back onto Monitor 2 still has the "Document 1" window
Other behaviour:
Dragging the main window onto the right monitor, you can then redock "Document 1" into it.
With the main app on the left monitor, Dragging any of the other panels out of the app onto the right monitor and then (without letting go) back onto the left monitor - the controls do not render on the left screen.

This seems like an issue with Windows XP (I couldn't reproduce it on Windows 7). We will investigate what the problem is. Thank you for contacting us about this issue!

Did you guys get anywhere with this? We have a policy here at work that people must lock their machines when they leave their desk and our apps become unusable after unlocking. The apps are having to be closed down and restarted - much to the disgust of our clients. Please could you update me?
Note that I've upgraded both the .net 3.5 and .net 4.0 versions of our apps to v2010.3.1314.xx.
Thanks,
Lee.
We are currently changing the way the floating windows are displayed in the Docking control and this might fix the problem. The new implementation is planned for Q1 2011 (and will be included in the Beta version as well).
Hope this time-frame is good for you!

It is been a month since latest update on this issue. Have there been any progress on this yet?
I have tried Q1 Beta and the issue is still here.
This is creating a major issue for us as well.
Thanks
Huseyn
Unfortunately, we had some difficulties and we couldn't make it for this Q1 2011 release. We will try our best to add the fix for one of the Service packs or for the Beta Q2.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The docking system as it stands if totally unusable, and I was relying on you to fix it for Q1. I am under huge pressure from my clients to deliver an usable application, and it now seems that I'm going to have to ditch Telerik docking, having paid a large amount of money to use your software.
I'm now going to have to write my own docking system from scratch, or find another vendor's solution.

Guys, start looking into performance issues.

Huseyn

I tried to explain our reasoning for not including the RadDocking updates in Q1 in the following forum thread:
http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/wpf/docking/docking-fixed-in-new-release.aspx
We understand the severity of the problem (we know that many enterprises still use Windows XP) but we prefer to release something that works, instead of releasing something that is partially tested that could potentially cause even more damage. In the moment that we have something that passes our basic testing routing we will post it here for everyone to try and see if it works for his application.

Hi
I'm trying to determine if the issue I am experiencing is a known issue or not, and this thread seems to be closely related to it.
I'm currently using the version of RadControls for WPF Q1 2011 SP1. I have an XP build connected to 3 monitors. When I run the Docking.exe demo, changing the layout seems to work ok when the app is situated on the default monitor. However, if I move the app to a different monitor, whenever I change the layout, the RadPane being moved disappears from the monitor and the compass indicator does not display.
I have also noticed that when the app is on the default monitor and a floating window is moved to another monitor, it completely disappears from view.
Is this a known issue? And if so is there any indication of when it may be resolved?
NB: The version of the Telerik.Windows.Controls.Docking dll being used is 2011:1:419:35. (I tried downloading the beta version of 2011.1.531.40, but I also received a version conflict with the Telerik.Windows.Controls.Navigation dll can could not resolve it with an AssemblyBinding redirect.)
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Mark

Yes, this was precisely the issue we were seeing.
Lee.
You could try the official beta version of RadControls for WPF where this problem should be solved as we entirely change the way the ToolWindows are displayed.
