How can I create a marked zone, similar to the ones shown in this example with the Graph item?
I couldn't find any hint regarding Marked Zonesin Telerik's documentation.
Any pointers into the right direction are highly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Indeed, the property relates to the obsolete Chart item. I'm afraid that the Graph doesn't expose such built-in functionality.
There is already a request for this feature logged in our feedback portal - check Marked Zones in the Graph. You can give your vote for it and this way its priority will raise. This also ensures that you will receive a notification when the status of the feedback item changes.
To mimic this functionality with Graph you can add an AreaSeries and set its Y and Y0 properties - How to: Add Series.
Depending on your scenario, additional series can share the existing category groups, series groups, and coordinate systems or you can add new ones.
Check the attached report demonstrating a sample approach.
