Hi,
May I know is there any plan for Telerik to include Logging support in various controls? So that developers don't need to write their own log framework or use any other third party logging tools.
Everything has to be built-in to deploy an integrated solution solely using Telerik Controls :-)
Thank you.
Regards,
Jenson

Hello Jenson,
Nikolay
the Telerik team
Thank you for this feature request.
Could you please let me know what would you expect from a feature like this, and how exactly would you expect it to work in the context of our controls? This will allow us to take this feedback into consideration if we decide that start implementing it. Currently, we do not have plans about it.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear Nikolay,
Thanks for the reply and attention paid to the thread.
Examples of how it would work in context of Telerik controls would be, let's say the RadGridView, all the events of it, like inserting new row, deleting a row (RowChanging, RowChanged), and etc. More on allowing logging of issues or information on the events handlers of each controls.
It would be good if it has another control or sets of controls just for adding in logging supports which could be controls independent. I'm not sure whether it is achievable like log4net, which you can implement the framework into any .NET projects and customise it. It would be good if I dont need to source for third party logging tools like log4net, but just Telerik logging supports/controls.
Not sure if I explain my needs clearly, please let me know if you need any further clarifications. But I think it's really a great feature to have from Telerik ;-)
Cheers,
Jenson

Hi Jenson,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. We will consider implementing your suggestion for the WinForms suite. I have updated your Telerik points for this feature request.

Dear Boryana,
Thanks for taking it into consideration. It would be good if there are project-wide logging supports too. I hope it's not too much to ask, e.g. you can define how and where you want to log the events, errors, and information too.
It would be a comprehensive logging supports straight from Telerik if it's done.

I know the thread is old, but did a Telerik equivalent of log4net ever get implemented?
Thanks.

Hello John,
We didn't implement such a mechanism, due to lack of demand for it. As you can see in this thread only a few people have requested it.
I hope that you find this information useful. Should you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Stefan
