I have a list box where I want to add several items. I later based on the status of a variable inside the tag attempt to set the backcolor of the item. However the items backcolor does not change. I tried to take of the themes and that did not work either. So is it possible to set the backcolor of an individual item inside a listbox.

Hi Donnie,
In order to set the back colors of a RadListBoxItem, you should modify the FillPrimitive of this item. I have demonstrated how to do so in the sample project attached.
For your reference about the internal structure of a RadListBoxItem, click on the RadListBoxItem SmartTag and then choose Edit UI Elements.
