I have a scatter plot which I would like to go from +Value to -Value in each axes with 0 always visible at the centre of the axis.

Setting the minimum and maximum value of each axis (for example +/- 14) sometimes works but often it will not display as I want. The first picture example I've attached shows that the axis displays from -14 to +11 with 1 in the centre. Is there a way that I can dynamically set the axis to always display -Value to +Value with 0 always in the centre?

Another problem I am having with these charts, even when I do get 0 at the centre of the axis, is that when I zoom in often get a value like -4E-27 as the centre value (see the second attached picture). Again is there a way to keep this at 0?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello Andrew,

With the latest binaries from the service pack (which will be released today or tomorrow) the second issue you described should exist no more (0 value label formatting). We had already identified this as a problem and fixed it. So I will suggest you upgrade when the SP is released. If you cannot upgrade I can suggest a work around that includes a label template and a string format.

About the first question you have (axis not including zero) - we have identified this as a issue as well and we have plans to implement some alignment-value feature. With it you will be able to declare that you want the labels to be zero aligned. Currently this is not possible and you need to set a manual range - min, max and step.

Let us know if you need more information.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I will keep an eye out for the service pack to fix the second issue.

Do you know roughly when you expect the first issue to be fixed and available?

Thanks again.

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately I cannot commit to giving an estimation on when the feature will be ready. In the mean time I again suggest you use a manual range to ensure the zero is included in the range.

Hi Andrew,

A quick follow-up: we have implemented the feature in mind. The new functionality will be available with the official release (end of February) and the name of the property is TickOrigin.
