Hi,
I have created a report with a landscape layout but when I try to export it with the ReportViewer (for WebForm and in PDF format) the report is always rendered with a portrait layout.

Is there any way to adjust this issue?? Thanks

Michael

Hello Michael,

Are you using the Silverlight viewer by any chance? If this is the case, be aware that in Q3 2010 we introduced native Silverlight print, which is set as default. However the Silverlight document print has very limited API which does not allow for us to specify the orientation. In such cases, change the UseNativePrinting property of the Silverlight viewer to false, which would effectively revert back to using the PDF plug-in.

All the best,

I am having this same problem.  I am NOT using the Silverlight Viewer.  I am using the webforms viewer.

What is even more interesting is that when I debug my web site using the cassini web server, everything works as expected.  Once deployed to the web server, everything is portrait.  I recently upgraded my Telerik Reporting to version 4.2.10.1221 to fix an issue with the designer not keeping the Landscape setting.  Once upgraded I thought all was good until I published to an IIS Server (version 6).

I am using the Telerik Reporting version 4.2.10.1221.

I really need a fix for this ASAP.  All production reports are failing to go into landscape.  Our printer settings are in landscape, but the render is always portriat.  We cannot even fix the problem at print time now.

PLEASE ADVISE...

Hello Terry,

We've made tests, printing and exporting with the Sales DashBoard online example (hosted on IIS) which uses the official Q3 SP1 release and everything works as expected. There was such a problem in one of the Q3 internal builds, but it has been addressed in the Q3 SP1. So in this line of thoughts, double check that you have uploaded the correct Reporting version to your live server and not the internal build.

All the best,

I have also run into this issue.  Running ASP.NET AJAX Q1 2013 and Reporting Q1 2013.  I just created a new landscape report, Page Settings is set to Landscape, Letter.  When I run the report, with the WebForms ReportViewer, and print it, it defaults to portrait mode.
It's odd because I have other landscape reports that were originally build under a prior version of reporting, and upgraded to Q1 2013, and they work fine, default to landscape.
Not sure what to do.

Hi,

I am also geeting the same problem with Telerik Report designer R3 2016.

I have created a report with a landscape layout but when I try to export it with the ReportViewer (in PDF format) the report is always rendered with a portrait layout.

Please help me to come out of this problem.

Hi Shiwani,

Please check the report's PageSettings properties. If you are using PaperSize=Custom, test to upgrade to a newer version - R1 2017 SP1 is recommended. You can test the PageSettings in the report designer by switching the preview in Print mode.

In case the report is modified at run-time, test to serialize the modified report instance in XML (TRDX file) and check the final settings of the report in the Standalone Report Designer.

Have you tried the new visualization options in Telerik Reporting Q1 2013? You can get them from your account.

Hello, Shiwani

A TRDX file contains Telerik.Reporting.Report object that is serialized in XML. Please read the content with a text editor and paste it here.
