Is there any official progress statement about kendoui and jquery 3.5?

Currently, https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/intro/supporting/jquery-support, says 3.41

Hi, Pandurang.

Here is a list of the different versions of Kendo UI for jQuery and the versions of jQuery they support.

Based on the requirements of your application you can choose the Kendo UI for jQuery - jQuery pair that best fits your needs.

I hope the above list will help you with the further migration of your project.

Hi, Pandurang.

Based on shared details, there are two things I can share:

  • Can you check the version of the Kendo Theme that is loaded to the project that you tested? The version of the Kendo Theme should correspond to the version of the Kendo UI for jQuery that you use.
  • Talking about the design/color differences, the version you are currently using is already 7 years old and the design of the different components has evolved through the years. What I mean here is that the design you are currently used to in your application will be different after the update of the library.

I hope the above details will help you.

Hello Morten,

We have a planned major version release that will be available tomorrow(13 May 2020).

With the upcoming Kendo UI R2 2020 version, we will officially support jQuery 3.5.1. After tomorrow, you will be able to download the newly released product version and use it with jQuery 3.5.1.

Let me know if you have any other questions related to the current ticket.

Regards,
Petar

When I update to the R2 2020, the dependency that's included with kendo is 3.4.1. Is this intended?

The jquery dependency that's included is version 3.4.1***

I am having to update the package-lock.json file manually to include jquery 3.5.1

Hi Sarah,

When updating the NPM packages, all packages that have definitions inside the package-lock.json file will be updated to the version pointed in this file. If you update the jQuery package configuration inside package-lock.json, everything should work correctly.
