Has anyone tried to actually pack the Kendo Mobile blackberry application with Webworks and deploy on the phone? Test page shows correctly on the Ripple simulator (served from IIS), but loses formatting completely when deployed to the phone.

Hi Andrej,

Kendo UI Mobile supports BlackBerry touchscreen phones, preferably with BB OS7+. The 6.x devices while would probably work, may fail for more complex applications because javascript fails silently after specified and not very long timeout for execution. Can you tell which device exactly and OS version do you use?

I use Torch 9800 with blackberry OS 6.0 (Bundle 3049). When I view the page served by IIS, the interface is showing correctly, but when packaged as a native application with Blackberry Webworks SDK (2.3.1.5) it looses format both on the physical device and on the simulator.

Hi Andrej,

This is due to a PhoneGap bug that fails to resize the viewport properly (and absolutely positioned elements don't resize properly). We fixed it in BB7+, however it seems the fix doesn't work in 6.x, where the bug is even worse. I've fixed it and the fix will be available with the next internal build and the service pack. However the fix is only partial - rotating the device to left/right doesn't properly update the viewport to fit the app in it. the only workaround I can think of is to stop device rotation for BlackBerry 6.x in PhoneGap. You can do this by adding the following row in config.xml:
<rim:orientation mode="portrait"/>

I also updated your points for the find.

All the best,
