Hi ,

I am facing below issues in Grid related to ADA compliance using JAWS

Note i ahve already applied .Navigatable() property in Grid

1)Grid is not reading the column name when Cell is selected

2)Cell color is not readed.

 

Please help me on this.

Hello Mohammed,

I just tested the Grid with the navigatable and scrollable options enabled in Chrome 86.0.4240.75 and JAWS latest version and I confirm the table header name is read upon selecting a table cell. Please find the Dojo demo I used for testing at the link below:

Please note that if you are using a different browser than Chrome JAWS will not entirely cover ADA compliance. For Internet Explorer, we comply with Narrator screen reader tool and for Firefox and Chrome, we comply with NVDA.

As it comes to reading the table cell colors, visuals and styles, in general, are not read by screen readers. What is read are DOM elements and their aria attributes that mark their special state.
