Is there a way to hide columns in the exportPDF event without changing what is onscreen for a Kendo UI Grid?

When I am using the exportPDF event, I can hide the column on the grid, export it and after it is done show the column again. However, I don't want to have to hide the column as it is a noticeable change on the page. Is there a way to hide the column with affecting the grid on the page?

Hello Thomas,

I can assume that the approach used for showing and hiding the column is similar to the ones shown here:

http://www.telerik.com/forums/hide-last-column-of-kendo-grid-while-exporting-to-pdf-for-few-tables

http://www.telerik.com/forums/how-to-hide-column-while-export

If this is the case, currently this is the correct approach as there is not a built-in functionality to chose which column to be exported.

I can suggest submitting a feature request and based on its popularity we may implement it in a future release:
