Is it possible to make our own report viewer or do we have to use the html5 viewer with kendo?

Hi,

We're currently evaluating telerik reporting for inclusion in our web app. We're using Angular and our own front end components and we dont want to add 1Mb+ of kendo to our project just for reporting.

I'm digging around the documentation, it seems that I should be able to hit up the REST API to get the info we need to make our own report viewer, is that the intention of the service? or is it tied to the report viewer and kendo, eg with the interactive stuff in the reports, does that depend on kendo ? ( i doubt it, just want to make sure )

Failing that, is there some way of sliming down the kendo.all.min.js file to just the functions needed for the report viewer?

cheers,
simon

Hello Simon,

The Telerik Reporting REST service provides a simple Application Programming Interface (API) to a report document engine using HTTP requests. The service is not tied up with the report viewer or kendo. Thus you can use it for you own report viewer.

We are not aware of any way to stripped down js based on another js requirements.
