Earlier today I successfully installed a trial versio of RAD Controls for ASP.NET AJAX. I then attempted to install a trial version of Telerik Reporting. I am installing on Windows Server 2008R2, and am using Visual Studio 2010.
The installation process appears to run successfully for a while, and then msbuild.exe starts and a 'Windows Installation Coordinator' window opens up and the process runs forever.
I cancel the process, cancel the installation, unsinstall and try again. Same result.
The attached document (in a zip file) shows what the screen looks like. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Bill,

In our forums, you can attach only jpg, gif, css, png. In order to attach a zip archive you would have to open a support ticket.
We have not encountered such a problem so far, so we suggest that you run the Telerik Reporting installer from command prompt with logging information enabled:

msiexec /i path_to\Telerik_Reporting_Q1_2011_DEV.msi -l*xv install.log

and attach the log file to a support ticket so we can review it.

Greetings,

Steve,

Thanks for your response. If you look at my original post, you will see that it was a .PNG file attached, not a .zip (I had started with a zip & realized you can't send one). I'll try the command line installation, but please take a look at the .png file. Thank you.

Steve,

I have tried to submit a Support ticket for this issue, but the Support page does not show Telerik Reporting as one of my supported products (only RAD Controls for ASP.NET AJAX appears). Presumably this is because the installation process never completes. (I am installing the Trial version). So, I am hoping I can get somewhere through this forum.

I ran the installer from the command line with the command you gave me. I cannot attach the install.log file, as it is not a supported file type, apparently. The process started at 9:47am. The last update to the log file was at 9:48am. It is now 12:05pm and the Windows Installer Coordinator is still running. The .PNG file I attached to my original post shows what it looks like.

I have copied and pasted below the last  page-full of text from the log file. Maybe this will help, or you can tell me how I can submit the log file. Thanks.
Bill

After not getting any response to my latest posts on this problem I did what I should have done first and asked a colleague if he had any idea what could be happening. His first suggestion was to remove the Examples from the installation set. That worked. The installer ran fine. I wasted 2 days because of this issue.

I've experienced the same issue with Windows Installer coordinator. Installing without samples was the solution.
