Hello,
I am afraid that the setting is currently not available for the Grid MVC wrapper. nevertheless, the feature is present in our backlog and the developers will implement it as soon as possible.

Try our brand new, jQuery-free Angular 2 components built from ground-up which
deliver the business app essential building blocks - a grid component,
data visualization (charts) and form elements.

Hello Viktor,
We are interested in having this implanted for our projects. What is the timeline for this feature? It seems like it should be pretty quick. Please let me know, thanks.
If there is a better channel for getting these requests resolve that would be useful as well.

Hello Benjamin,
The task is in our backlog, however, I cannot give an exact time frame on when it will be implemented. As soon as the feature is included we will update the GitHub item.

Hello,
this feature is definitely still needed (even after one and half year). Is there any chance to get this done? Or do you know about some workaround how this setting (sortable.initialDirection) could be achieved from ASP.NET MVC environment?

Hello Peter,
I am afraid that the feature is not in the immediate planning, however, I have increased the priority for it so it can be scheduled for implementation sooner.
If you would like to have a different sort order than the default one in the MVC wrapper you could enable server operation. This way sorting will be performed on the server and you can sort the records as required.
Another option would be to use the jQuery widget and configure the initialSortDirection setting for.
