Hi Guys,

When I drag the nodes in the treeview, it displays "Infinity is not a valid value for the property Width". What caused this error?

Thanks,

Hello Sum,

Unfortunately this is a know regression the Q3 version of the TreeView.

It happens when the TreeView is placed in a ScrollViewer or in an auto-sizing column of a Grid and the in between items drag cue has to appear.

This is fixed in the latest weekly internal build and it will work as expected for the Service Pack.

This article describes the problem for the Silverlight TreeView but the same issue is present in WPF as well (look for item 2.1.):

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, I have the same problem with WPF. Can you pinpoint me to the solution?

EDIT: Nvm, just noticed it works for WPF too.

EDIT 2:

Although this prevents the error from happening, the problem is not completely gone away. If I set the MaxWidth to 500 and the container's current width is 200, when the line to show where the item is going to drop, it makes the container expand to its max width, which is a really weird behavior to just overlook it. Is there a solution for this as well?

Thank you.

Hi Lauren Nickerson,

The Service Pack for the controls is expected in the middle of next week. I hope that you will be able to wait for it so that no workarounds for this issue will be needed.

The ControlTemplate of the TreeView could be edited to change the InBetweenDragCue but this will be unnecessary in a couple of days.

I am sorry for the inconvenience that this issue may have caused you.

Sincerely yours,
Miroslav
