Hello,

I'm using version 2012.2.710 and for some of my grids im running into this problem on IE8:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500

I'm not entirely sure if it's the grid, the underlying datasource, or what, but something in kendoui is hitting the limit in IE8.  The microsoft "fixit" and registry tweaks are not a viable solution for us.  We target business users and it's just not feasible to expect them to apply this patch.

We were actually considering buying a license, but this is most definitely a show stopper for me, so much so that I'm considering replacing all the work I've done with kendoui and replacing it with something else.

I understand it's a problem with IE8 (I mean seriously, why are they keeping track of lines of code executed rather than execution time.)  But, its so bad that for some of my grids this popup appears almost instantly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Really frustrated...

Thanks

Hi Levi,

Can you reproduce this issue in any of the grid online demos? If yes in which ones?

You haven't provided any code which leaves us no hint as to what the problem may be.

Hi there.  I know this is an old thread but I'm having trouble finding an answer.  I did, however, find a demo that also causes the issue for IE8 users.

http://demos.kendoui.com/web/grid/virtualization-local-data.html

This should present the script warning approx. 5 times.  Any help would be much appreciated.  My web page is throwing about 10 times on IE 8.  Very painful.

Thanks,

Hi David,

You are right. The script which generates the data for this example may cause IE8 to display this warning. However we can't really fix it because the sample data needs to be generated somehow.

What is the setup in your project? How many records do you have in your grid? IE8 is notorious for being very slow when processing large amount of data and DOM nodes. Have you tried enabling paging in your grid?
