1. How to add a customized component to the header column, such as a check box clicked to make all the check boxes in cells checked / unchecked.

2. Is Kendo grid support the frozen feature? For example, if we have 20 columns, is it possible to make first 3 columns frozen and the other columns with a scroll bar?

3. How to apply the permission on grid?  If we have check box in each row, is it possible to make some disabled or read only if end user has no permission?

4. Can you provide us the source code of Kendo UI, if we need customized something by ourselves?

Thank you so much.

Hello Congyuan,

Straight to your questions:
  1. You could add a check box to the header column in the Kendo UI Grid as you define it in the HTML structure. For convenience I created a sample project which is available here;
  2. Currently such functionality of the Kendo UI Grid is not supported, but this idea has been already shared in our UserVoice page, so if you wish you can give your votes for it here. The more votes it collects, the sooner will be planned;
  3. We need more details about your scenario in order to assist you best;
  4. The source code for Kendo UI is provided with every distribution and it is available for download in  your account.

I hope this information helps.

Hi,

A year passed since Congyuan asked the question '2. Is Kendo grid support the frozen feature? For example, if we have 20 columns, is it possible to make first 3 columns frozen and the other columns with a scroll bar? '

Has Kendo supported this feature yet?

Thank  you,
Alex Nguyen

Hello Alex,

I am afraid this functionality is not supported in Kendo UI yet. The good news is that it is in our ToDo list and we will do our best to provide it as soon as possible. Once its implementation is scheduled it will be added in the official roadmap. Please excuse us for the inconvenience caused.
