How to test a Barcode in my report

I am adding a Barcode filed to a report I'm using to print Avery labels for a parts Bin system. Each Bin label has the barcode of the Bin Number, pretty straight forward. I have not yet coded anything to read in the barcode but I would like to be able to test it before printing hundreds of labels. Is there some quick way of testing that the barcode will in fact return the Bin Number assigned to it? I am including an example of the labels I am creating and the barcode represents the bold number (Bin Number) on the top left of each label.

Hello Alan,

There shouldn't be a problem to read the barcodes directly from the screen (we have tested on LCD screens and it reads them). You can also create a small sample report just for the purpose of the test that will print only 4-5 barcodes.

There are even apps for smartphones that can scan barcodes and tell you the value. In fact, with such an app we have tested the barcodes from your screenshots and the codes are correct :).

hi Elian, Thanks for testing my barcode, it's good to know I will be able to confidently develope to it down the road.  I had tried to scan it using RedLaser on my phone but I couldn't get it to work. Which application did you use?

Hi Alan,

The app we used for our test is "Barcode Scanner" for Android. Needless to say, you need to hold very still and aim precisely.
