I've got a report that's sized like a #10 envelope that I need to be able to print. I've attempted to set up a dedicated "envelope printer" in windows that is preset for printing envelopes in the right orientation and grabbing from the right tray. However, the Silverlight report viewer seems to completely ignore those settings. What is going on here? Is it a bug or is there some kind of setting I need to look at?

Hello Devin,

By default all report viewers provided by Telerik Reporting ignore the settings for orientation since it is controlled at report level. This means that depending on the page settings of the report the printed version will receive its orientation automatically and you will not be able to control it through the print dialog.

My page settings are definitely correct. I've been able to get it to think that it should print on an envelope, but it never seems to respect the printer settings that say where to get that paper size. Even though the printer is pre configured to default to the envelope feeder in tray 1, printing the report always ends up with the printer asking to load envelopes.

At the moment, I'm using the report service to export a PDF so that they can print from Acrobat, since it doesn't have any problems. However, I'm open to suggestions that can get me back to printing natively from the application.

Thanks

Hi Devin,

We are glad to know that you have found a solution to your problem on your own. As stated in the previous ticket the settings in the print dialog are ignored including orientation (which is defined by the page settings of your report). If you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
