Is it possible to edit or remove the 'Created' date and time from a pdf report metadata?

I've looked at the Device Information Settings (http://www.telerik.com/help/reporting/device-information-settings-pdf.html) but there is no mention of the 'Created' meta data.

Is there any update to remove Created date meta data from pdf document when using Telerik.Reporting.Processing.ReportProcessor().RenderReport.

We are generating 256 hash of generated document. using same report datasource, generated report 256 hash mismatch each time.

I found that only Created data attribute changed each time, which invalidate hash of previous one.

Hi Kamran,

I noticed that the same issue was raised in a support ticket. I replied there, and I will copy the relevant part of my reply also in this thread for the benefit of our community.

Indeed, the CreationDate is different, and this is expected. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed and the date cannot be edited or removed with our Reporting tool.

Please, note that this is not the sole reason for the different hashes. Generally, two PDF files cannot be generated absolutely identical. Apart from the CreationData that would differ, there are some identifiers that would also differ as they are generated as random values. For example, the FontName and BaseFont identifiers.

As an example, I generated two PDF files from our demo 'Barcodes Report.trdp'. Here is a link to a muted video that demonstrates some of the differences in the files that may be seen when you open them with Notepad++.

It would be interesting for us to find out what is the scenario where you would need two PDFs generated separately to have the same checksum. Can you elaborate, so that we can try to help further?

Hello David,

Currently this is not possible with Telerik Reporting and you are the first one to require such a feature. If other people request it too we may consider it for implementing. Also please have in mind that since we support a lot of rendering formats it is not possible to support all of their features too.

You may want to try and additionally process the exported PDF file using a PDF library like iText.

Kind regards,
