How to activate toolbox in VS2017

Hello,

I want to edit my report in design modus, but I can't get any items from the toolbox.

All the entries are disabled.

How can I solve this problem?

Hello Simon,

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have.

In order to determine the reason why the controls are not available for the project you have loaded I would suggest to enable diagnostics for the Visual Studio Toolbox. This can be done by adding a DWORD registry value called “ShowDiagnosticToolboxTooltips”, set to 1, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\[VisualStudioInstanceId]. After you start Visual Studio again, load the project and hover over the disabled controls you should see more information from the diagnostics. I have tried this and it works.(see attachment)

Rightclick on menu and reset to default.

After a few seconds it works.
