How integrate report designer into my wpf application?

Hi,

We develop a wpf application and now our final users need to create them custom report, starting from an empty page and decide everything about the page layout.

I was wandering if is it possible to integrate telerik report designer (exe) into our application. Is it legally possible?

I was thinking about a button from the application that open your exe.

The official license agreement can be found here - Telerik End User License Agreement for Telerik Reporting and Telerik Report Designer

The Standalone Designer tool can be distributed freely as a part of your solution (4.1 Reporting Programs and Report Designer Program). This does not include the Report Designer integrated in Visual Studio as it requires installation of Telerik Reporting on the machine (2.2.2 Reporting Software Scope of Use). The Standalone Report Designer is a desktop application, which process can be started on a button click from your application.

Hi Stef,

without reading all the End User License, is it possible to integrate telerik report desinger or a part of it in a single wpf application?
We just need to set layout size, some txt fields, imgae field and a barcode. Out of our business software we want to start the report
and sending data out of the business software?!?

Hello Rene,

From a legal standpoint, you are allowed to integrate the Standalone Report Designer as a part of your solution and distribute it. From a technical standpoint, however, we cannot provide any report designer source code or support on how to integrate parts of the designer into another application.
