Is there a way to save and reuse report elements or layouts?

For example, if I frequently use a horizontal line that spans 100% of the width of the report and has a line width of 3pt, is there a way to save it to the toolbox rather than dragging a shape and configuring it manually?

Or if I always use .5 inch margins, can I configure that as the default instead of having to change the margins on every report?

Or if I use the same page footer on every report, can I save that?

I know I can copy some elements from one report to another, but if there's a way to create my own custom report elements, can you let me know how?

Thanks!

Hi Lane,

While Telerik Reporting does not provide the option to save frequently used layouts you can workaround this in a simple way - just open the designer.cs file and examine the auto generated code. Choose what you will need from the layout and copy it wherever you want for later use. Obviously this is not very convenient if you just want set the margins of a TextBox, but it can be huge time saver when you need a whole header, footer or a panel with certain layout. Just have in mind that it is not enough to copy the footer section for example, you will need to copy the items in that section as well (like TextBoxes, Shapes, etc.).
