Is it possible to disable or hide the built-in validation error indicator (red dot) of RadMaskedTextInput?

I am using the control only to enforce an input mask (for example, ##:##).

I already have my own validation logic that runs when the control loses focus. As a result, users see two validation indicators:

  1. The red dot displayed by RadMaskedTextInput when the entered value does not completely match the mask.
  2. My own validation indicator displayed on lost focus.

I would like to keep the input mask behavior that prevents invalid characters from being entered, but disable or hide the built-in validation indicator from RadMaskedTextInput.

Is there a property or recommended approach for this?

Hello, Jimmy,

You can set Validation.ErrorTemplate property to null, for example:

<telerik:RadMaskedTextInput Margin="0,135,0,0" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Center"
                            Validation.ErrorTemplate="{x:Null}"/>

If you continue to experience any further difficulties, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share a code snippet or a sample demo project demonstrating your current setup. This would allow me to take a closer look at your specific scenario and provide further assistance.

Hi Nadya,

Thank you for your answer. I've already try this solution but it doesn't work.

Here is the code :

<Window x:Class="Standalone.MainWindow"
        xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
        xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
        xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
        xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
        xmlns:telerik="http://schemas.telerik.com/2008/xaml/presentation"
        mc:Ignorable="d"
        Title="MainWindow" Height="100" Width="150">
    <Grid>
        <telerik:RadMaskedTextInput Width="100" Height="20"  Mask="##:##"   Validation.ErrorTemplate="{x:Null}"  />
    </Grid>
</Window>

Here is an image of what it is happening when the focus enter the control:

Hello, Jimmy,

To hide the clear button, set the IsClearButtonVisible property to false:

 <telerik:RadMaskedTextInput Width="100" Height="20"  Mask="##:##"   Validation.ErrorTemplate="{x:Null}" IsClearButtonVisible="False"/>
