Hello
I have two columns of textboxes with a panel in between.
When I turn of visibility of the panel, the textboxes to the right shifts position towards left.
Is there a way of taking the panel out of influence? (bring to front, doesent work)

...anchoring the right textboxes would solve the immediate question, but I have other situations where I need to take a panel completely out of play, without having to dock,anchor and tie every other controls down.

The described behavior is by design and is explained in the Design Considerations for Report Item Layout help article.
Using dock and anchor is not recommended. Instead, you can use a second panel with transparent background color behind the first panel. With this approach, will be preserved by the second panel even if you hide the first one.
