In my report, I have a group footer that contains subtotals for the group. I would like to ensure that it is always printed on the same page as the data in the group, rather than by itself on the following page.

There does not seem to be any option to accomplish this. Basically, what I want is a "keep with previous" option. If the group is printing toward the bottom of a page such that there will not be room for the totals, I would rather have the whole group (or part of it) moved to the next page than to have the totals appear alone at the top of the next page.

Is there any way to do this?

Rick.

Hello Rick,

Yes, in the current implementation of the groups paging there is no such setting. What you can do is:
  1. To keep together the whole group  - which will not guarantee that the footer will be rendered with the last detail when the group is longer than one page
  2. To keep the group header with the first detail - which is similar functionality, but for the header.

So, thank you for the feedback and we will add you request to our TODO list.

Best wishes,

We have a similar situation in some of the reports in our Landboss product.  Has this feature been added yet?

Hi David,

There is no out of the box way to handle this functionality. You can play with the GroupKeepTogether functionality to see which best fits your reports, or increase the detail section width a bit, so that at least one detail is moved to the next page along with the footer.

Hi Steve,

I am working on the report where I want to keep group footer always at the bottom of the page and on the same page. But if my detail section goes longer, the group footer moves to the next page.
Do you have any recent release or functionality to overcome this problem.

Thanks

Hi Ruby,

The Group Sections are not connected to the page layout and there isn't a way to position them relatively to the page.

Kind regards,
