Grid MVVM - autoBind

I've currently got a scenario where I'm binding a grid via MVVM, but don't want the data to read automatically. Is the autoBind attribute currently supported when using MVVM? Or are there any workarounds for this?

Hello Chris,

I'm afraid that currently the autoBind option does not take effect if widget is bound to a DataSource instance through the MVVM. However, we have already addressed this limitation and it will be available with the next official release of KendoUI as well as through the next internal build.

I'm glad to confirm this has indeed been implemented in build 2012.1.406, and that it solves one issue I was having with using a routing javascript library (sammyjs) where a DataSource would hit the server twice on first run.

One more down. Keep 'em coming !
