I want to do what is shown here: http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/frozen-columns

But do it from table that already exists in the html.  The problem is that I never know how many columns or what will be in the table, just that I need the first column to be locked.  Is this possible?

Hi Stan,

At the moment specifying frozen columns through data-attribute initialization is not supported. Please excuse us for the caused inconvenience.

Will this be added?

It is very frustrating to have things available to only one of the two binding models - especially since I cannot really do a datasource with this situation.

Hi Stan,

Supporting this feature through data-attributes is not in our short term development plans. Could you please provide additional details about the current case and why providing a dataSource is not possible, so we could assist with a workaround if possible?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
