Filters - Hide parent group if no records display in child group

I have a pretty simple report with 1 parent group and inside that is 1 child/detail group. 

The child/detail group has a filter on it where depending on parameter selections and field values some records get filtered out.

In some cases all child records within a parent group are getting filtered out, but the parent group still displays.

How can I prevent this parent group from displaying in this case? Is there a setting or a way to build a filter in this way?

Hi Kyle,

I have attached a sample report based on your descriptions. There is only one parent group and the Detail (default, innermost) child group. The filtering is applied on the Report (as the innermost details get filtered). 
Note that when there is no data in the corresponding group the group is not displayed.

I may have misunderstood your set up or requirement. In such case feel free to open a support ticket and send the report definition for local investigation, so that we try to provide a specific solution.

Hi Todor,

Thanks for the response.  The difference was that I had the filter applied to the child group rather than applying the filter to the Report.  Changing this to correspond with your example has solved this issue.
