I try to debug a Web-Service that takes XML data as input and returns a PDF.
Since I could not convince Fiddler to write the response to a usable file, I tried my luck with the PDFVierer addon.

I noticed that the PDF is technically correct, however the PDFView windows does not show any text on the page. Graphical elements are shown, just all the text is missing. I managed to capture the PDF file with a different tool and the file itself is OK. All my PDF readers show the text. It's just the Fiddler PDFView Plugin that does not.

The PDF references plain Arial Font which would probably render with the "default sans serif" font for devices that do not know Arial (my Windows does).

Anything I can do about that? Maybe any way to hand the extracted file to the default handler for that content type?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and hope you ca help me out...
I'm using Fiddler2 v4.4.4.8 (by the way, I did upgrade to then latest version, but I'm still having the same issue)

Under AutoResponder, I added a rule (complete url to a strream flash file), specified the new flash file I want fiddler to respond with (use instead of the browser one). I've cleared my browser cache, and every time I play the stream, the browser flash file is captured again (instead of auto-responding) with the one saved already!!!

It used to work just fine, but now it appears as if the auto-responder (although checked) is not working at all...it's just a pass-through!!!

Any suggestion or setting I may be missing is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

I want to test input validation of all WebForm fields for any given field,  and not have to breakpoint and manually change values for each of the fields,  and then be able to view the results pages.

Is this feasible with Fiddler?

Thanks

Is it possible to get older versions of Fiddler ?

I've been very happy until I upgraded.

Whenever Fiddler is running my connection is lost and debugging is impossible. When I poke around with the connection settings, I can get some connectivity, but HTTPS traffic is broken and not debuggable.

I don't have time to poke around and f$k around with settings which have changed or debug an application. It just worked so I'd like to revert or abandon.

The fact I need to sign up to be able to post here is also a annoyance: I KNOW you'll spam me with your other products and idiot newsletters for products I'll search for when and if I need them. I've been happily using fiddler without being annoyed or being spammed since 2003 and wish to continue to do so.

Hey all, I've played around with the Timeline and read through the knowledgebase page, http://docs.telerik.com/fiddler/knowledgebase/timeline.

I still can't seem to discover how to get actual times in milliseconds to show. I see the scale divided into 1s increments but nothing more granular. Anyone know the secret here? I can't imagine that functionality isn't in there someplace with all the other sophistication. Thanks!

I've downloaded a couple of extensions to check that I'm doing it right, but it doesn't seem that I can get Fiddler2 to recognize that the AustralianImages.dll file is actually a valid extension. I place it in the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Fiddler2\Scripts folder, with other extensions, but while those other extensions load, this one doesn't.
I can't see any log or other information telling me why. Are there any obvious things I'm missing, or any steps I should take to troubleshoot this - or is it simply possible this sample no longer works?

Hi,

I'm trying to use a script for the action on an autoresponder, but I cannot get it to  work, and I cannot really find any information on how to do that. Is there some information around, or should I try to get the book?

I thought it could, but cannot get it to do anything.

We're running Fiddler2 on the WCF 4.5 client side of a Java web service, Windows 7, Soap.

When I turn capturing on and send a request from my client app, I'd like to see what is actually being sent to the service including the Soap envelope and any request headers.  My problem is that the headers the service is expecting do not match the headers I'm sending, particularly the Content-Type, but I have no view of the headers so I can't tell what I'm sending.

I do see a file captured, but what's in it is meaningless to me.  When I open the Raw tab I see the mish-mash below.  Either it tells me what I already know, or nothing at all, but hasn't anything to do with the soap message or headers.  If I open the Headers tab it's just more garbage.  I can't even tell if it's looking at my client or something else!

I've read that you have to change ports in your web.config, which I've tried - same mish-mash.  Any clues???
