Environment: Fiddler 4.4.6.2 64-bit on Windows 8
Proxy server in the browser was manually set to localhost:8888.

Problem: when Fiddler is told to NOT capture traffic (the icon in the left bottom corner disappears) Fiddler still captures traffic and displays it.

Basically there is no way to temporarily disable capturing other than disabling proxy in the browser. This is very inconvenient, especially in a VM environment.

I've a issue with a computer when I launch Fiddler.
Every URL address I want to request is bloqued while capturing is enabled.

If I stop capturing, URL request are passing.

My version is up to date,

I've tried to unistall and clean it, then re-install it without success.

What is strange about it is that I don't have this issue with an other computer with the same configuration, params, and antivirus options.

I've only found one topic about it on google, and the guy solved it with an uninstall (unfortunatly it doesn't help me there :/)

For information, in help > about, it's written 'No Gateway' on both computers.

If you have any information or tips to help me to solve this matter I'ld be very grateful ;)

we are trying to automate web browser control through powershell and we are using FiddlerCore to get the time statistics. Basically trying to get the total time taken by a website to finish loading.  

We call start-Fiddler to use it as proxy and then create a browser control.
Now we Navigate to page and then call $output = Receive-Fiddler.

Now there seems to be a problem with output returned through this command "Receive-Fiddler". It basically returns an array of requests made and the time statistics [ ClientConnected , ClientDoneResponse ]. often I see the ClientConnected , ClientDoneResponse is coming as Null. Again this is intermittent but can happen atleast  5-6 times in 10 tries. its easily reproducible.
 ($result[0].Timers.ClientConnected )


has someone reported this behavior? is there an better approach than what we are doing?

I have connected an iPhone to my Win 8 machine and configured Fiddler to with instructions found here http://blog.brianbeach.com/2013/01/using-fiddler-with-iphoneipad.html

So far all seems ok in that when I access a website on the iPhone its logging it and I can see where its going etc. I then need to monitor https requests by that I mean a site in the format of someSite:443.

When I access an app using this mechanism the application freezes and returns an error (cant connect) which I assume is to do with the traffic going through port 8888 - what additional steps do I need to take in order to capture the URLs that the app is hitting?

FiddlerCap was used to work smoothly, but since I updated to latest version, I always get the following error when I start capturing a session:

503 Service Unavailable
Failed to resolve the name of server fiddlercap.fiddler

I have installed Mono 3.4 for OSX and Fiddler2 for Mac from http://fiddler.wikidot.com/mono.

When I attempt to open Fiddler.app...it just hangs and I have to force quit it.

Any help is much appreciated.

I installed Fiddler to view the traffic to/from a local application via http://localhost:8888/.. I installed Fiddler 4.4.6.2 but am a bit confused by a couple of things.

When I run my test that accesses my app (on http://localhost:8888/.. ) I see the traffic in Fiddler, but the client I am testing crashes because it seems to be getting back something from Fiddler Echo Service instead of the actual response from my app. How do I stop that?

Secondly, even when I turn capturing off (File > Capture Traffic), it is still capturing traffic. I have to exit from Fiddler before it stops.

Is there something else I am meant to do here just to get Fiddler to view the traffic, not modify it, and to stop capturing when I ask?

Hi everybody,

I use Windows 7 with a dark theme. Fiddler works great with it. 

Problem is, when I save a .saz file and then load it, Fiddler shows a white highlight on all the requests. That highlight makes the request unreadable. I have no idea why it does this or whether the highlight has any meaning. It doesn't show that highlight when working normally, only when loading a .saz file.

Any idea how to get rid of this? 

I try to debug a Web-Service that takes XML data as input and returns a PDF.
Since I could not convince Fiddler to write the response to a usable file, I tried my luck with the PDFVierer addon.

I noticed that the PDF is technically correct, however the PDFView windows does not show any text on the page. Graphical elements are shown, just all the text is missing. I managed to capture the PDF file with a different tool and the file itself is OK. All my PDF readers show the text. It's just the Fiddler PDFView Plugin that does not.

The PDF references plain Arial Font which would probably render with the "default sans serif" font for devices that do not know Arial (my Windows does).

Anything I can do about that? Maybe any way to hand the extracted file to the default handler for that content type?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and hope you ca help me out...
I'm using Fiddler2 v4.4.4.8 (by the way, I did upgrade to then latest version, but I'm still having the same issue)

Under AutoResponder, I added a rule (complete url to a strream flash file), specified the new flash file I want fiddler to respond with (use instead of the browser one). I've cleared my browser cache, and every time I play the stream, the browser flash file is captured again (instead of auto-responding) with the one saved already!!!

It used to work just fine, but now it appears as if the auto-responder (although checked) is not working at all...it's just a pass-through!!!

Any suggestion or setting I may be missing is greatly appreciated!
