I'm fairly new to Report Server, but am promoting its purchase in-house.
I have gotten the question about whether it's possible to extend the available component respository thru the RS API. E.g. a custom pie chart diagram.
I've searched wide and deep, but haven't so far found any mention of such a functionality.
Is this possible thru some .Net assembly using the API, being made available thru the Report Designer ?

Hi Lars I,
Adding custom report objects into report is not supported. A possible option is to render a custom pie chart to an image using a third party tool and display this image in report via PictureBox item.
There are, however, other steps that we are making to allow the Report Server reports to use external objects. In R1 2018 release we will add support for the ObjectDataSource - What's Coming in R1 2018. This will allow to display the data from custom data objects in reports.
