Is there any way to make the WPF RadGridView navigate down and up when pressing enter/shift enter like Excel does while remaining in edit mode. Currently when you fill in data in a column you have to press enter to exit edit mode, press down arrow and the press F2 to enter edit mode again. Not very effective when you are filling in 150 rows.

While on this topic, it would be great to have the rest of the Excel navigation in here like automatically entering edit mode when you start typing and being able to use the arrow keys for navigation when in edit mode.

Hello Andreas Essex-Ludwig,

Unfortunately with the current version of RadGridView (2009.3.1314 aka 2009.Q3.SP2) there is no way to customize behavior of a single key. Please try our 2010.Q1.beta version. There are a lot of improvements related to keyboard navigation. I'll add Shift+Enter support for the official version. Thank you for pointing this out.

P.S. I've updated your Telerik points accordingly.

Hi Nedyalko

Thank you for your prompt reply. I've installed the 2010 Q1 beta version of the controls and there seem to be a problem with a theme called GridAdorners as per the attached screen shot.

Also, the keyboard navigation seems to have gone backwards. It now no longer stays in edit mode from one row to the next when I Tab between the cells (something I really liked in the prod version) and when I press Enter it doesn't just exit edit mode, it actually seems to lose focus on the grid completely, making any navigation impossible without resorting to the mouse.

Is this the intended behaviour in the new release?

Cheers

Andreas

Hello Andreas Essex-Ludwig,

Please check if you add all required by RadGridView assemblies (Telerik.Windows.Controls.GridView, Telerik.Windows.Controls, Telerik.Windows.Data and Telerik.Windows.Controls.Input). If so, could you please send me a sample project which I can debug on my side?

It isn't an intended behavior (keyboard navigation) and again it will be very helpful if you send me a sample project. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely yours,

Hi Nedyalko

I've attached a sample project. Due to the 2MB restriction I didn't include the bin folder but hopefully you'll get the same result.

Besides the issues I described in my last post there also seem to be a problem with the group sum function. It won't display in the group footer unless I also add it to the group header. Also the sum in the grid footer won't appear at all until I've edited at least one row in the grid.

Cheers

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

We do not get the attached project since the forums are allowed only for image attachments. Please open a support ticket and attach your sample project to it so we can test it locally and provide you with further assistance. Thanks!
