This error pops up in the Silverlight Report Viewer after I deploy to prod - XAML rendering format is not available

This is another of those "works fine on my dev machine, but not in prod." issues.  I've followed the deployment process to the letter.  Anyone else running into this?

I'm using version 3.2.9.1211 of Telerik Reporting and Silverlight Report Viewer.

Hi Matt,

The error is clear and states that you do not have the Telerik.Reporting.XamlRendering assembly. Both our documentation and KB article for deployment explain the exact assemblies you need according to your project. Would you mind sharing where you've looked for this info, so that we can update our files if out of date?

All the best,

The links you provided did the trick.  I used the video here: http://tv.telerik.com/reporting/video/getting-started-with-telerik-report-viewer-silverlight as my guide. I just missed the XAML rendering piece.

Thanks for the links and your immediate response.

Hi Matt,

The rendering extensions are loaded dynamically by type and that is why a reference is not needed. The video you've referenced is produced on a machine with Telerik Reporting installed and this way the Telerik.Reporting.XamlRendering assembly is present in the GAC and loaded from there. This however is not the case on the server where you do not have the product installed and that is why copying the assembly in the bin folder is necessary.

Kind regards,
Steve
